Our brands Remaris, Smart, Thor and WSPay reach more than 10,000 merchants. Last year, Monri processed more than 130 million card transactions in Croatia, or every fifth non-cash transaction. Customers have encountered Monri’s SinglePOS terminals at over 8.5 thousand payment points, primarily in leading retail chains and 6 thousand HoReCa companies use Monri’s cashier solutions.

We are part of the Payten/ASEE Group, so we have the opportunity to integrate knowledge and best practices from organizations within the group. On the other hand, we have the autonomy and flexibility of a start-up, so we like to think that we combine the best of two worlds.

We operate on the markets of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Romania, as well as in several countries outside the region. With the recent PCI P2PE certification, the highest security standard in card payments, we are strengthening our position for a global breakthrough. In the coming period, we will be focusing on further development of all brands and on the significant step forward on the international market.
Now we are looking for a Software Architect in our ECR (Electronic Cash Register) Development team for our Remaris, SMART, THOR, Loyalty, and related products.

We’re focused on .NET development (web, mobile and desktop) with the intent to share as much as possible between different solutions and technologies using reusable components and microservices.


Why is the job exciting? As a Software Architect you will:

  • You will be responsible for the higher-level software layers for multiple products.
  • Your primary goal is to translate business requirements into scalable, robust, and maintainable architecture designs.
  • You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and business analysts, to ensure that the architecture aligns with organizational goals and technical standards.
  • Designing the software architecture of the project considering technical constraints, functional requirements, and project goals.
  • Ensuring the coherence and quality of the software architecture throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Be hands-on with the Product Teams to understand the limitations and consequences of choices made.
  • Designs and implements re-usable software components
  • Supervising and guiding development teams in implementing the software architecture.
  • Conducts research on software and prototypes (i.e., tools and technology)
  • Recommends technology for the product roadmap and to upgrade legacy technologies
  • Makes architectural recommendations to management



  • The position is available in Zagreb, Croatia, with a hybrid work model.


We are looking for someone who has: 

  • Strong skills in software design and software architecture.
  • Native or bilingual Croatian + advanced knowledge of English language, allowing fluent communication and writing documentation
  • Strong drive to achieve the best results in line with internal or external standards of excellence
  • Good planning and organizing abilities
  • 5+ years of experience as both a hands-on architect and a software engineer in designing and developing applications
  • 3+ years of experience in leading a team
  • Experience in software development and coding in various languages (C#, Java etc.)
  • Hands on experience in DevOps for improving existing software
  • Expert Understanding of Software Design Patterns, Architectural Patterns, and Industry Best Practice
  • Flexible and Adaptable to changes in project scopes and new technologies
